For kicks (I was really bored) I wanted to see if I could edit the portal alias table directly in sql server to flush out an idea we were bouncing around.  I did so by clearing the contents of the table and then entering some records with valid data.  Now when I try to enter any of the alias urls the browser reverts to the host url and throws this message at me "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."  Can anyone help me by describing what might be going on and how I can fix it?  Thanks.

child or parent portal alias?

if parent, is the url in dns?

if child, you can't do that as the frameworks creates a directory for every child portal alias

also, clear cache
