Peter,

I will help out with the testing, and if I can get my development test workstation back in order, will also help with some coding tasks.  Send me an email with details, and I'll make some arrangements to put the new code through a test.  I have a list of the top 100 newsfeeds in a text file, so I can use those as test cases.

Cheers

Craig, Phil,

I have made a number of changes and I think I'm getting close to release. It would really help, given both of your background knowledge in the subject, if you could help out with testing. There are few testing resources here and this is in part the reason behind the issues we had with 04.00.00. Please find the relevant links to beta versions in this post:

I took the blog post of Craig to heart. It is not 'great' to read of course, but he's right. I have added 'background loading' to my own internal roadmap for this module. For now I'm concentrating on bug fixing and making sure all situations are handled adequately.

Cheers,

Peter

Peter, firstly sorry for the late reply, I have had a bad case of the flu for that last week or more.

Also, sorry to be so frank regarding my post, however I have a community here that needs to be informed in relation to DotNetNuke and it's updates, fortunately this is a rare situation but not an impossible one to overcome. I generally provide a high level of free support to the local community and my analysis can prevent a high level of support if they implement prior to testing, I hope you understand.

I have just read the posts regarding your changes and will drill down and grab a copy and test over the next day or so and provide you with some feed back.

Best wishes and thank you

Craig

Peter

Just took a quick look at your beta 4.00.01 and yes it apears to handle multiple instances much better, :)

However, my first look does show one "pubdate" error when using the feed link above.

(tryed to paste the like here but keeps going to the top of the edit box??)

Cheers

Craig

Thanks Craig,

I'll look into the feed above. I think we're nearing a release here.

I can't reproduce the error, here. The pubDate is transmitted in universal format (2008-09-25T07:01:13Z) and should be picked up in the module using the regular Date.Parse of .NET. It does here, anyway. What do you think? If you do continue to get the error, It'd help if you could set a breakpoint in code at the method RssXmlHelper.Parse(Date) as Date and see what happens there.
