Hi there, I cannot edit the security roles, as the options are all greyed out.

It happens if I login as admin or host.

I use versions 040900 with sql server.

Does anyone know why this happens?

I can edit a new role which i created though, so it's not so bad.

Also I looked everywhere and tried what you said Robax, but I cannot figure out the way to assign Module editor rights only to members of a certain group or to the group itself. Is it possible?

If I go down to the page of module leve I have the choice between View and Edit page, and if I give the group I just created Edit page permissions it seems that the group has then Page editor rights, which is not what I want...

I am really confused.

Thanks a lot for helping, Thomas

Hi Rob,

probably a dumb question... but if I have a bunch of registered users and I want to give each and every one of them the possibility of editing the contents of their personal page ONLY (not that of other people's personal pages) do I have to create one role for each single user and assign it editor rights within the modules in his page?

i.e if I have 60 users I have to create 60 Roles and assign each single role to the modules on the role owner's page.

Isn't there a shortcut around this..

Thanks

Edo

Edo, in newer versions of DNN you can assign per user Permissions, at the bottom of the permissions grid you can type in a username and assign them view/edit rights.

I'm not sure if that is what you're looking for, but that is the best way right now to assign individual permissions without having to create individual roles.
