Hi all, newbie here for DNN.  I read the "succesful Installation of ..." by hooligannes and was very encouraging. I did every step as his email suggested including reading the document.zip.  But still running into this error:

The stored procedure 'dbo.GetPortalAliasByPortalID' doesn't exist.

I'm installing DNN 4.0.2 with SQL Server 2000 on XP.  I have checked the database server authentication to make it server and window both.  When I created the database for the project, I did not see any script to run from the instruction.  So I do suspect somehow I missed something and just don't know when this client scripts are created.  The connection strings I modified were:

<add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=dnnw;pwd=pwd;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>

<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=dnnw;pwd=pwd;"/>

Something bothers me was the 1st time I ran, it said "SiteUrls.config" file not found.  Then I copied the file from config/SiteUrls.config to the root with the web.config.  Then I ran into this error as above.   Any input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Jane

the following worked for me:

go to the security-tab for your directory in which are the files and add the ASPNET (server2003, may differ) account and grant it full control.

(before i just had added the NETWORK SERVICE...)
