We have upgraded a site from DNN3.2.2 to DNN4.8.3. We use the Telerik Editor v7.2

When we edit an existing text module with embeded images, images are not shown when in edit mode, but can be seen on a published page

a) in edit mode  src="/myimages/mypic.jpg" - appears as broken because there is no "myimages' foilder in the root of the site.
b) when published src=/portals/0/myimages/mypic.jpg"


When adding a new image, the image can be seen in edit mode, but appears as a broken image when published.
a) in edit mode  src="portals/0/myimages/mypic.jpg" -
b) when published src="portals/0/portals/0/myimages/mypic.jpg" appears as broken because there is no folder called portals/0/portals/0/myimages.

What appears to be happening is that the HTML is being parsed on Update and "portals/0" is being added to the src path.

I've tried various combinations of Autocreatepath & stripabsolutepath being true or false.

URLs are in classic format i.e Tabid=XXX rather than friendly URL format.

Any ideas

I would upgrade to the latest provider / RadControls.

As a quick test, switch back to FcK and see if you experience the same issue.
