Very strange behavior - running 4.09.00 and haven't had any problems since upgrading to this version a few months ago. Suddenly today, I'm unable to access most of the modules. I get the dreaded red triangle of death with a "Error: Module is currently unavailable" message complete with a stack trace. For example, using the simple html/text module I can edit the page, but when I try and enter the "settings" part of the module I get this:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: vbc : (0): error BC30137: Error saving temporary Win32 resource file 'd:\temp\vbcF48D.tmp': The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. --->

System.Web.HttpCompileException: vbc : (0): error BC30137: Error saving temporary Win32 resource file 'd:\temp\vbcF48D.tmp': The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. at System.Web.Compilation.AssemblyBuilder.Compile() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvidersCompiler.PerformBuild() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I realize that this is a lot to take in, just hoping that someone would see this and say "oh yeah-that looks familiar" and "this is what I did to clear it up". I realize it's a shot in the dark, but I've got my fingers crossed on this one...

if you are on a hosted server, please contact the hosting support, otherwise restart IIS yourself.

In addition to restarting IIS, I would also recommend making sure that the D:\TEMP has the correct permissions to give ASP.NET access to it.  As sebastian mentioned, depending on your environment, you may can do that or may need your hosting provider to do that.
