Hi

I am new to dotentnuke and my client has asked that I log the the date and time each time a registered user enters any page on the site, including pages in the public area. I am wondering what the best way to approach this. I know this will generate a lot of information but it is what the client demands. Also they will have that many registered users. I intend only to track when a registered user links to a page internal to my website not when they link away from it.

I have done a lot of reading about the links control and linkclick.aspx but I do not see this as a solution because it would need to include links contained in menus (House of Nuke House Menu) which do not support it. Also it is not possible to guarantee the site administrators have created links that conform to this. Then there are all of the SEO complications.

I have thought about creating a new module that writes to a log each time it is loaded. Perhaps i could use the underlying code in linkclick.aspx but I am not sure where to find it.

Any thoughts, past experiences, or am I making this more complicated than it needs to be.

Thanks

Brad,

I think the Site Log located under admin might do this for you already.  If you take a look at the detailed site log you can see every location that anyone who access your site goes to.
