Hi!

I tried to install DNN on Server 2008, but no luck so far. There were 2 ways:

  1. Server 2008 with SQL 2008 - this one I tried with DNN 4.8 and in installation step, that one with SQL configuration, I couldn't connect with database and had no option of SQL 2008, only 2005. Does DNN 4.9 supports SQL2008?
  2. Server 2008 with SQL 2005 - for SQL 2005 to work on Server 2008 you need SQL 2005 SP2 which I also installed. But, in installing SQL 2005 I got message that IIS isn't installed which it was and all important services. On google I saw that SQL 2005 on Server 2008 should work fine, but I am not able to run DNN.

So, do youo have some comments about it?

since SQL Server 2008 is backward compatible with SQL Server 2005, you may safely use SQL Server 2008 with DNN settings for SQL Server 2005.

I installed DNN 4.9 on Server 2008 with SQL 2005 and with other server, also 2008 and SQL 2008. It works on both. Issue was that I needed to enable authentication mixed mode on SQL, not only Windows authentication.

Thanks! ;)
