Hello, friends. I need some help.

I made a DNN web site on my local machine. I want to upload it now on the hosting web server at a provider. I made a SQL Server 2005 DB and i installed a clean DNN and all was fine.

But i want to copy my local site at the remote hosting. So, i deleted all of the files in wwwroot and i uploaded my local DNN. But what i should do more to make it work proper? Or its impossible in that way? I want to make the simpliest way to copy my current working local DNN web site on the hosting provider. Please, tell me some advices.

Have you taken a look at the thread that deals with moving DNN installations?

Did you change any of the physical files.  If not, then doing a clean install would be fine.  Now you need to export the data from your local database and import it into the database at the hosted site.  Before accessing the site you will need to manually update the entry in the alias table so it point to the URL of the hosted site and not localhost.  If you could give any more information about what issue you are having you can get a more targetted answer.

I did that:

First i should say the versions of DNN - my local is 4.8.4 and the remote hosting: 4.0.3.

1. I installed the remote DNN - clean install. Installation completed. After that i removed all files from the directory and i copied my local files on the remote. Then, i tried out to upload my database on the remote SQL Server 2005 DB. My local was on SQL Server 2005 Express. I did the copy of the objects fine. But for the data i had some errors. After that i gived up and i started the other way - to copy just the skins and to fill up manualy again all into DNN web site - modules, texts etc., localizaion...

2. I reinstalled again DNN - clean install. I copied just the skins and loged into the web site. But when i started to add the pages one by one - i had error - the system cannot find the file specified! I should say that the names of the pages are on other language , but i added UTF-8 and all was fine on the local machine. On the remote machine the same situation, but with errors!

I need some help. I am installing for first time DNN on remote hosting provider and i am trying this from days. I want to install it :) !

Can you post the link for the remote site locally.  Also, have you called your hosting provider for some help.  Most of the good hosting providers will help you move/migrate a site from a local machine or other hoster. I'd also see if you hoster can provide the latest version of DNN installation.  They are way behind in the version number they are installing.
