Until 4.9.1/DNN 5 is out try a different scheduler method (request maybe).

Scheduler mode can be set in Host Settings (advanced Settings section).

Mine at least "work" with request mode for the most part... timer mode completely destroys my portal.  I ended up turning off most of the scheduled processes and then a few that I needed turned on (custom ones) I exposed the needed functionality as a webserivce and process it from a Windows service.
