I am currently having 2 issues with a brand new DotNetNuke install of version 4.0.9 and AD Provider 1.0.4

1. When a user opens the homepage for the first time they are auto-logged in with their AD credentials and their user account is created.  If they click logout and close and then reopen their browser they are not auto-logged in again.  Is there a way to make it so that they are auto-logged in each time they open the site?

2. I have created Security Roles that matches the Pre-Windows 2000 name from Active Directory and enabled the role synchronization checkbox but users are not being added to their respective roles when they login.  What am I missing?  Do these groups have to be a specific type in AD? Global, Domain Local, Universal?

Any help is much appreciated.

1. Unfortunately I haven't found a work around to that problem though if they go back to the site between a 1/2 hour to an hour later they should be automatically logged in again.

2. If you're not using impersonation in your web.config then you might have to. As for the type, I've seen some users who had to use Universal but I've had not problems with either Global or Universal at work or on the test domain I've got at home.

Been having the same problems using the AD Module. When a user visits the portal for the first time it correctly creates an account for the user in DNN. However if the user logs out of the portal when they revisit it they are not logged in automatically again. The only way back is to sit out waiting for the cookie to expire or the user to delete cookies and revist the site. Is this a bug with the module ??

Using the windows login screen doesn`t work either

I`ve also noticed that when the user account is created in DNN it is not picking up the correct details from AD either e.g. email address

rather than picking up an email address as firstname.lastname@domain.co.uk it getting loginid@domain.co.uk.

Also roles assigned in AD are not being created in DNN, I have tried using impersonation as suggested but still it doesn`t work.

I`ve spent sometime trying to get the AD DNN Module to work with my installation with not much success. Am I missing something or are there issues with this module ??

Hobbie the way you stated this I wanted verify you understood that you have to create the Security Roles on the DNN side too. Once that is done once the user logs in it will automatically try to sync the roles that match between AD and DNN.
