Hello,

The smtp service within Dotnetnuke seems to send all emails with base64 encoding. Due to an incompatability issue with an older mail server that this service interfaces with on some emails send, the setting is problematic for us.

I am wondering if there is a way to change the encoding of Dotnetnuke's smtp server settings such that it sends emails using a different encoding (besides base64).

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Christopher Koeber

DNN is using .Net mail server and AFAIK this always encodes text base64, since the text might contain non-ASCII characters (sending UTF-8).

Thanks for the information. I am guessing there is no way to change that through the web config file or anything like that, huh?

Thanks for your time.
