I made some changes to a skin file - it previewed fine but when I applied it I get an error (see below) and am unable to view the admin pages (like 'skins', 'settings', etc) and in the address bar they're appended by "the state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted" and am now well and truly stuck!

I did try replacing the skin file with the original file (via FTP) to no avail.

Any insight on this?

I finally had success after deleting and replacing the entire 'portals' folder in a hail mary move and viola! it worked.

That's interesting. I've got two pages that have been generating that same error for more than a year and I've never figured out why. It's definitely not the skins I'm using because they're in operation on lots of pages, but perhaps it's something else being referenced in the folder. I'll have to examine them carefully.
