Ok so apprently when the site was set up probably 5 years ago it was a child portal set with an expiry date of 10/1/2008 so obviously I just need to get in there and remove the expiry date from the host account.

So now I have a new problem. No one seems to have an idea of what the host account credentials are. Is there a way I can inject a new host/find the host name/reset the expiry date through the database?

Thanks so much for your help and any further insight you can share, I was banging my head for a bit. Cheers!

should work -

use enterprise manager to open your database - select the table portals - and view the records in it - change the expiry date to null and this should open the portal back up -  from memory dnn did not actually delete the portal data when the expiry date came around - it simply hid the portal.

to get to the user names and passwords - have a look at table 'users ' this lists the users their logons and their passwords

check hostsettings table and see if 'EncryptionKey' is set - if it is then the passwords in users table are encrypted - simply set 'EncryptionKey' to null and then enter the new passwords into the users table.

this is based on dnn2.1.2

Hi No-Pro,

Make sure your website is running ASP.NET 1.1 and not ASP.NET 2.0 .  I saw something like this happen with a DotNetNuke 1.0.10 website (yes, we host some pretty big and old site) and the problem was that the ASP.NET version number was set incorrectly.
