my host does not contain many files, but my portal now contains approx 2000-2500 files (jpg's)

Is there a workaround for this problem, or do you know a solution for this. Perhaps you can upload a zip file, synchronize and unpack the files, or doesn't this work either? I haven't tried it yet.

Well I found it best to do 2 things:

1. Not use the snycronization at all - do everything through file manager (so without FTP)

2. Re-program the syncronization routine - I've actually done this, and have cut times on mine 1200 files from 6 minutes to 8-10 seconds of snycronization. The only problem is that it contains one bug to which I haven't yet had time to give to solve it (some files still remain on the file system and do not end up in the db, I'm not sure that this is my bug, maybe even it's present in the core syncronization itself)

hope this helps

That would be great to post that code. I am having the same issues , and did ALL of these things, and NOTHING works. I think that DNN 4.0.2 is still pretty much junk. I figured ok, I'll upload a zip file containing the 500 images to the site, hit synch, then extract, that would do it, but nope, it times out, the only thing that DNN can predictably do on a regular basis. If you think it is user error, allow me to send you all my files and I dare you all to make it work. *frustrated but still hoping it will work* win2000 server (fresh install), dual xeons, 4gb ram, t1 at the office, site hosted at USC.
