Hi,

I have DNN 4.X installed on a machine and it uses IIS.  The site can be accessed the following ways:

  1. User is on the machine and goes to localhost
  2. User goes to the IP address
  3. User goes to the URL that is setup for the domain
    • The issue with this one is that if a user clicks on any of the links the URL changes from the domain name to the IP address.  How can I resolve this issue so th eIP address is never shown if a user goes to the domain name?

I did verify that the Portal Alias does have the domain name in as well as the domain name is stated in IIS for the header.

Can anyone please help me figure this out?

Try removing the portal alias that carries the domain name or at least making it # 2 in line.

Hi,

I thought you had to have the domain name as one of the aliases. I removed the alias that had theURL as you suggested name so now it's in this order:

  1. localhost
  2. IP address

When I go to the domain name, the home page does show up with the correct url but if I click on any items in the navigation bar, login or any other link/button the URL gets changed to the IP address.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Have you had any success with this?

I too have this issue. All links include the machines IP address with my site. When I click on them it errors out but I can replace the ip address with the domain name and the page is found. Any help would be great.
