Hi,

I just wondered what is the best way to set up a multilingual repository?

I have a news page that will have news articles on it but these could be in Spanish or English, obviously those users viewing the Spanish site will need to see the Spanish posts and those viewing the English site will see English posts. I've managed to set up content areas using mlhtml from apollo so can you embed this module in the repository? I've also seen categories in the repository and this could also be another way to cut it, I'm sure theres probably a few ways of setting this up just wondered what others users views may be who have already gone through this process.

Grateful of any help,
OldBeno :)

Beno,

use a multilingual Announcements or News module, e.g. MLAnnouncements or MLAdvAnnouncements from www.apollo-software.nl or MagicNews from www.portalfabrik.net.

DSLocalizator has the hability to hide modules based on the current locale. So you can drop two instances of the same module and tell DSLocalizator to hide the not corresponding one with the current locale.

DSLocalizator is free and you can get it from: http://dnn.tiendaboliviana.com

Sebastian / Mauricio,

Thanks for your help with this. I downloaded the Apollo MLAnnouncements but it is very simple in what it does and doesn't really fit my clients requirements, however always good to know what a module does :)

I am using multiple repository modules and hiding with DSLocalizer as Mauricio stated which works very nicely indeed, thats a great little way of doing things on a multilingual portal, i'm sure i'll be using it again in other areas on the site.

OldBeno :-)

Hi.

You seem familiar with appollo modules.

I have installed the localization module, then the html and announcements free modules but when I add them to the page, I can only see the titles. There are no controls to interact with the modules?

Have I forgotten something?

Regards,

Jean-Philippe
