Hi new to all of this, could somebody please help me out and tell me what I'll need or if it's poosible to install dotnetnuke onto just a pc running windows xp pro sp3 etc...What will I need, and what versions etc, I've already downloaded the install v4.9.0 just now looking for some advice.

You'll need IIS installed on the machine, .NET 2.0 Framework, and either SQL Server Express or SQL Server 2000/2005.

If you're developing, you'll want to have Visual Studio 2005/2008 and SQL Server Management Studio (or Management Studio Express).

Mitchell Sellers, I believe, has some good tutorials for installation. http://www.mitchelsellers.com
