Hi,

When you have multiple (View)ModuleDefinitions in a Module, all submodules are placed on a page when a user adds the mainmodule from the toolbar.

I want to only show one (main)module and add the others by code later.

The last thing is not hard to achieve, but how can i initially only add 1 module from a multiview module?

Tnx

Developer58,

I would suggest just creating a new module registration that has only one module definition. When registering the new module, just replicate the one module definition that you want from the other module (point to the same user controls, define the same keys, etc...).

This would be a pretty quick and easy solution, and somewhat more maintainable than hacking on any code to acheive it.

Any other ideas are welcome.

Take care,

Ian

Hi Ian,

Tnx for your answer.

Thats what i thought of too, but it's likely that i use more than 10 modules. Then i would have to registrate them all seperately and they are all showing as individual modules in the moduledefinitions of DNN.

The submodules are designed to work standalone, so it can be done, but i'd like to deploy them from a sort of control center (the (settings)viewcontrol) while hiding them in the DNN moduledefinitions as view. I thought of naming the subdefinitions (after installing with an empty name so they get registered) on deploying them, but i can't fool DNN with that ;-( A definitionname must be null to be recognized as viewcontrol).
