Hey All,

I am trying to create a text link to an internal document (that I already uploaded using the File Manager) and when I click on the link I get an error message saying, "Could not open https://www..............." The document I am trying to link to is a 2.62MB Power Point file. Is this file to large to try to open in a link. The file upload went smooth and I can open it from the file manager but for some reason I cannot open it from the link. I'm fairly sure I set up the link correctly as well... I'm thinking that it might be too large and the application is timing out when I try to use the link. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,

Quigley,

First thought - should the link to the file be using a security certificate ("https")? If you don't have a valid certificate, this may not work. Also, can you share the link to the file that you are using? feel free to change your domain name to yourdomain.com or something, but please try not to change anything else.

Take care,

Ian

Thanks for responding Ian,

The link is https://www.cbwdoghouse.com/Portals/0/Heidis%20Opening%20Speech%20(NXPowerLite).ppt. The (NXPowerLite) is a program i found to shrink the size of a PPT.

Thanks again for the help,

Quigley

Hey Quigley,

That's interesting - the link worked quite well for me in Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 7, and FireFox 3.

Are you still having the same issue?

Take care,

Ian

Thanks again for replying Ian... Yes I am still having issues. When you tested the link did you click directly on it from my post? I tried that thinking it might be an issue using the link in DNN but i still get the same error saying it cannot open the link. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Quigley
