Hi there,

I´m trying to install the install version of DotNetNuke on a clean installed box mentioned in the subject. Is there a good guide explainig the configuration of the environment before installing DotNetNuke? I have a lot of problems getting this to work. Errors telling me "access denied" or "failed to map the path" are only a few. I hope there is a Guide/HowTo/Tutorial or something helping me to get DotNetNuke running so I can test it.

Thanks

behrens

I too am having a hell of a time installing DNN 4.09 on Server 2008/Sql 2008 Express/IIS7. Is there a guide to installing on this config. I installd DNN fine on a Win2k box with SQL2k but this 2008 config is kicking my butt. Note a guide for N00bs is needed.

I'm trying to install the DNN 4.9.0 Starter Kit on my Server 2008 Enterprise / MS Visual Studio 2008 without success.Everything seems fine, but it will not show up in the browser.

This is what I get:
--------------------------------------------
The Web page can not be displayed

    Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
Error has occurred in the site.
You may have typed the wrong when you entered the address.

    Try the following:
      Diagnose connection problems

      More information

The problem may be due to a variety of reasons, such as:

Internet connection is disconnected.
The site is temporarily unavailable.
DNS server (Domain Name Server) could not be reached.
DNS server does not have any information on the site's domain.
If this is an HTTPS address (URL safe), click Internet Options on the Tools menu, then click Advanced. Check that the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled in the Security section.

For disconnected users

You can still view the feeds you subscribe to, and some recently viewed pages.
Well, shows you feeds that you subscribe to

Click the button Favorite Center, then feeds and then on the feed you want to view.

To view recently visited Web pages (may not work on all pages)

Click on Tools and then click Work Offline.
Click the button Favorite Center, then the past and then on the Web page you want to view
--------------------------------------------

Thanks / Tomas

This error is in IE, the request never got to IIS.  Check that the URL you are requesting actually exists and that IIS is set to answer on the IP that the name resolves to.
