Did you manage to resolve this?

If so, how?

I had to right click on my solution in the solution explorer in VWD and build the entire solution to get the module.css file to load. Weird. Why would that effect a CSS reference?

It believe was a cache issue, that has since been fixed in a later release of dnn 4.

We just experienced this problem with an install of DNN 5.02.02, so it still exists.

Touching the web.config resolved the issue.

I've reported the problem as issue

DNN-11606

, however action does not look promising as I can't reliably reproduce the problem.  If anyone can add information to this, please do so!

The system was upgraded from DNN 4.06.02 to 5.02.02 a week ago with no errors.

And yes, the problem occurred with a custom module that has been unaltered for a year - no errors were logged by DNN, the module.css was simply omitted from the output HTML.

Caching is not turned on for the module.  We have not discovered any steps that reliably reproduce the issue - just seems that very occasionally when the module is compiled by ASP.NET the first time, DNN gets itself in a twist and doesn't find module.css.  We didn't experience this issue with the module in DNN 4.06.02.
