Ok, I am a novice when it comes to XML. I'm trying to modify the OnlyOwnItems.xsl XSL.

 I want to only show a record if the field "Are You Coming" is 'Yes' or if the record belongs to the current user or if the current user is an administrator or in "reunion committee role." This seems to work except if the record belongs to the current user and the "Are You Coming" is 'No.' Any ideas???

<

xsl:for-each select="udt:Data[*[name()='Are_x0020_You_x0020_Coming']='Yes' or *[name()=$NameOfCreatedByColumn]=$NameOfCurrentUser or $IsAdministrator or $IsReunionCommittee]">

Have you tried changing it to not equal 'No'?

!='No'

If you know the name of the column in advance, you can change the filter to:

<xsl:for-each select="udt:Data[udt:Are_x0020_You_x0020_Coming='Yes' or *[name()=$NameOfCreatedByColumn]=$NameOfCurrentUser or $IsAdministrator or $IsReunionCommittee]">

please check the values of <xsl:value-of select="*[name()=$NameOfCreatedByColumn]" /> and <xsl:value-of select="$NameOfCurrentUser]" />, if they are really the same

Steffan, I thought your solution would work, but it does not for some reason. What does the '*' do that precedes '="*[name()=$NameOfCreatedByColumn...'?

i ended up using this:

<xsl:for-each select="udt:Data[udt:Name_UDT_Original=$NameOfCurrentUser or udt:Are_x0020_You_x0020_Coming='Yes' or $IsAdministrator or $IsReunionCommittee]">

Which depends on the name of the 'Created by' column, but it works.
