Hi

I have a portal set up with about 500 pages and loads of sections ect.  I am currently designing a new skin for it and have realised that I really need to simplify this site.  The simplification will involve moving some pages to other sections and getting rid of whole sections entirly.  Now its with all this in ind that it seesm the best thing I can do is build a new site/skin and start again.

However, there seems to be a number of issues one has to face when doing this.  Firstly, how would one deal with all the missing pages and Google ect.  I know I can set up 301 redirects but with a site of this complexity it is going to be allmost i,possible.  And also what effect would this have on my page rank and my position in Google.

The whole concept seems rather scary really.  Its Ok if you just change your skin but having a complete site rebuilt is another issues alltogether

Any ideas, tutorials or tips would be great

Thanks
