What is the ideal development environment for creating DNN modules?

Visual Studio 2005 installed locally?   IIS Locally?  SQL Server installed Locally?  DNN installed locally? ...etc.   Will this dog down my PC or should I consider moving this to a server for development?

you can develop modules using VS 2005 or VS 2008, for compiled modules (WAP) you need VS2005 SP1 Standard/Pro/Team or VS 2008 Std/Pro/Team or VS2008 SP1 Express.

I prefer to use IIS on local machine with installed DNN to run and debug my modules during development. SQL Server (2005/2008 Express or real) might either be locally installed or run on a dedicated server. This works fine on WinXP (with IIS Admin Pro for multiple installations side by side) or Vista.

Having Visual Studio 2005, IIS, SQL Server, and DNN installed locally doesnt slow your PC performance way down?

We have found WinXP to be a real headache as far as getting DNN to install on.
