I want to add this feature

http://www.michaelgottinternational.com/3/gott_glam.html

to the home page of the site. So, I created the following test page:

http://www.michaelgottinternational.com/ViewArticle/tabid/97/Default.aspx.

Two issues on this oage:

1) My CSS is not being fully recognized even though the new styles were added to the skin's CSS file.

2) $(document.ready) is not a function error on the page tells me that Jquery is not being recognized even though the js file is being loaded.

Ideas? Thoughts?

thanks, len

Hi,

I've found that any script causes my DNN skin to mess up completely, even if it's just a bit of javascript in an HTML module, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why either?  I've tried asking before, but to no avail.  The standard response is that it is something to do with my installation, as all isntallations are unique, and that there are too many varialbes to take into account to expect it to run smoothly for everyone.

I would assume that your CSS issue has to be some other style somewhere overriding what you're doing in the skin's CSS (container.css, portal.css, something lower in the skin.css, something selecting certain elements in a different way, etc).

For the jQuery, the ClientAPI javascript that DNN uses defines the $ function, so you should use jQuery(documeny).ready instead of $(document).ready (and it'd also be good if you called jQuery.noConflict() inside of that call, which reverts the dollar sign to its other use, if jQuery had taken it over).

Hope that helps,
