Hi All,

I'm having a bit of a problem occasionally with using AJAX.  Most of the time my module works fine, however, every now and then it gets into a state with the following error shown every time i go to a page with some AJAX on it.

A critical error has occurred.
The control with ID 'ModalPopupExtender1' requires a ScriptManager on the page. The ScriptManager must appear before any controls that need it.

Once it's in this state, the only way that i've found to get rid of it is to clear the DNN cache and restart the application.  It's happening about once a day now.  I have the following code in the Page_PreRender() event handler.

if (DotNetNuke.Framework.AJAX.IsInstalled())
{
    DotNetNuke.Framework.AJAX.RegisterScriptManager();
}

Any ideas?

I was using DNN 4.8.0, but soon after posting my inital post yesterday, i found this logged issue:

This sounds like my problem and suggests that it's fixed in 4.8.2.  I have now upgraded our dev environments to 4.9.0 and will test before releasing to production.
