Step 3: In Sqlserver 2005 i have created the database as dotnetnuke and set configuration  under Security-> Logins->New login -> login name as  dnnuser(login) ->sql server authentication -> default database as dotnetnuke  and db_owner and  then  under database (dotnetnuke ) i have created New user named dnn and set the permission to  the db_owner and public.

step 4: i have run the application->http://localhost:1090/dotnetnuke/default.aspx

it redirects to http://localhost:1060/dotnetnuke/Install/InstallWizard.aspx

there It shows the test permissions link.I have clicked the above link it shows the message as permission success  and then it shows the connection success then i have clicked the next button. It shows a progress in Red color as Installing database scripts ............
For more than 12 hours but i am not able go to the next page the next button is disabled.till now its running in the same page as Installing database scripts ............ i n
then i checked the database dotnetnuke-> under tables->it shows only two tables  which are  named as

1)dnn_Version
2)dnnVersion

1)dnn_FindDatabaseVersion
2)dnn_GetDatabaseVersion
3)dnn_UpdateDatabaseVersion

clear the database and make sure, that the sql server user you created got dbowner permission for the database! Restart installation

Hello senthil,

We encountered similar problems while trying to install a DotNetNuke host via the Visual Studio Build-in WebServer.
We go around this problem by running the Install via IIS.
So configure your website to run from http://localhost/dotnetnuke/default.aspx and everything should go smoothly.

Be aware though, you need to remove the items your previous install placed inside your database before you retry the install.

Greatings,
Alex Reinermann

Hi Alex Reinermann,

I just modified the url as  you said (http://localhost/dotnetnuke/Install/InstallWizard.aspx) instead of the old url (http://localhost:1060/dotnetnuke/Install/InstallWizard.aspx) its working fine...

Once again thanks for yuor nice and clear reply.
