I want to use the documents module to manage mp3 files.

But I get the following error:

[Your file] Is A Restricted File Type. Valid File Types Include ( *. template, *.docx, *.xlsx, *.pptx, *.swf, *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.jpe, *.gif, *.bmp, *.png, *.doc, *.xls, *.ppt, *.pdf, *.txt, *.xml, *.xsl, *.css, *.zip, *.js ). Please Contact Your Hosting Provider If You Need To Upload A File Type Which Is Not Supported.

Is there a way around this?

Thanks

Login as Superuser ("host"), go to HostSettings and add your file type to the List of Allowed File Extensions.

Thanks Sebastian,

For anyone else doing this the complete path to this setting is

    Host Settings
        - Advanced Settings
             - Other settings
                  - File upload settings

I am having a problem trying to load a .PPTX file (powerpoint 2007). I have added the file type to the valid list, but get the following error (note .pptx is shown as a valid file type!)

The File D:\Source\3_EVO\WEB\HRGPortal\iSuite_v2.2\Portals\0\test.pptx Is A Restricted File Type. Valid File Types Include ( *. swf, *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.jpe, *.gif, *.bmp, *.png, *.doc, *.xls, *.ppt, *.pdf, *.txt, *.xml, *.xsl, *.css, *.zip, *. pptx, *. ppsx ). Please Contact Your Hosting Provider If You Need To Upload A File Type Which Is Not Supported.

Any suggestions as to what else I need to do?

*** POP *** I still haven't fathomed out why this is not working - any suggestions? I have tried: Restarting the application. Updating the host settings Clearing the cache Still no joy :-( the most frustrating part of this is the error message that actaully includes the .pptx file suffix!! Any help would be really appreciated.
