Hello.

My email is hosted by Network Solutions and not my web server. I setup the HOST->SMTP settings and the "TEST" worked fine.
My website does not seem to be able to send emails to the outside world. I do NOT have SMTP installed on my web server because I assumed I did not need it bcause my email is handled by Network Solutions...Am I wrong in that assumption?

I keep getting the error "Sorry, relaying denied from that FROM ADDRESS'

Any help would be great.

the problem is the configuration of the mail server, that does not allow to send mails to external adressees, except for specific users. make sure to use a proper email address in your user profile used as FROM address and contact your hosting provider for specifics of the mail server configuration.

I have done what you suggested.
The email address that is sending out the emails is support@scaremenot.com and is a valid email address created on Network Solutions.
My SMTP settings are...and the "TEST" works fine.

SMTP Server: mail.scaremenot.com
SMTP Authentication: Basic
SMTP Enable SSL: Unchecked
SMTP Username: support@scaremenot.com
SMTP Password: <correct password>

Host URL: http://www.scaremenot.com
Host Email: support@scaremenot.com
The host and admin user account email addresses are also support@scaremenot.com

I am using a DNN package called Dynamic Registration to send the email and it is also configured to use support@scaremenot.com
I have it setup to send a welcome email upon registration and also CC rick.stickles@scaremenot.com
The emails are still not being recieved by the end user but the scaremenot email box is recieving the CC.

Also, If I go to Admin->Newsletters and try to send a newsletter to my GMail account that also does not work.

Any help would be great as I am trying to get the site live and this issue is my last one to fix.

Thanks.

sorry, but the error message indicates, that it is a mail server issue, not a DNN problem. try to enable log at the mail server and check, what is happening.

I understand.
Just to cover all areas of this... Do I need to have SMTP set up on my web server even though Network Solutions is handling the email?
