How can I remove the login link that appears right under the search box in the navigation bar across the top? I would still like to be able to access the login page but just remove the actual login link from there. Is this possible and if so how?

The login link displayed in the top right corner of the default skin is a skin [TOKEN]. You can remove this by creating a new skin which doesn't have the [LOGIN] token in it, or removing it from the current skin.

cc24x7 had a post about this in a similar thread:
Anyway, regardless of whether or not the login link is in the skin you can always invoke it by appending your URL with "&ctl=login" or "?ctl=login" depending on whether or not there are other parameters in the URL.

I too would like to remove the login token from my skin yet have the administrators, no users will log into my sites, append something like "/admin/" to the default URL and be able to log in.  i.e. http//dnn.mydomain.com/admin/  and be prompted w/ the login similar to http//dnn.mydomain.com/?ctl=login .  I believe my users would be able to remember /admin/ and I would not have to field calls about how to login every time they edit their sites."

TIA!
Jason
