Hi,

I wanna want to do customizations in dnn modules,when i downloaded the source code for events module from dotnetnuke.com there was no solution file in that source code.With put solution code how should i open the source in VS 2005 and do customizations.Any boby please tell the process and suggest any reference sites for dnn module customizations.

Hi Mohan,

I faced with the same situation..with out solution file in source code how can we open that in VS 2005.AnyBody any idea about this....

please install the module source package in your local dev portal like any other module and the solution file will appear like magic (except for WSP modules, which can be edited within the web site and don't need to be compiled. Please be aware, that still some of the modules (usually those with a version number beginning with "3") are still in DNN3 / ASP 1.1 format and required DNN3 and VS2003 to be compiled (or need to be upgraded using the upgrade wizard).

Hi Sebastian

where to download the source package .I downloded the source from www.dotneknuke.com,but there is no solution file in it..As you told to install the source package ..iam not getting how to install the source with out .exe file...Please provide necessary steps to install a module with the help of source?

After I installed the module Announcements source package and tried to open the solution with my VS 2005, it tried to connect to a source control, but wasn't found and then it said that the project wasn't compatible with my version. Does this mean that I can't use VS 2005 for the source package?
