Hello , New to the world of DNN and SQL stuff.

while searching through the hosting plans, I am wondering how many and what type of SQL Data Bases do I need?

If I am planning on a Forum that is 1 DB for the users/ login right.

Now do I need 1 for the events module? If I want to filter the events by categories (e.i. Math , Science, Phys Ed) do I need a separate Data Base for each Category?

I need to study up on SQL DB. but any help would be greatly appreciated

You will need a single database for your DotNetNuke installation.  Only one.

you may use any SQL Server - as long as it is from Microsoft (SQL 2000/2005 or 2008, even free Express versions but not compact or embedded versions).
