Hi Gilles et all,

I have a Gemini account....

You can put me in on user "Jos".

Let me know how to proceed.... I'm already busy with testing the Gallery module, so I have to set my priorities right.

Cheers,

Jos

Hi Jos,

It's great! ;-) There is no special procedure. Just test the module and create issues in Gemini if you find some bugs. Please create one issue for each bug, do not report several bugs in only one issue! This is because I have to review and qualify each issue, then apply changes to the code. When the a new version is released, the QA team review all issues qualified by me before close them if the bug is corrected. Gemini can be used also to request enhancement and submit code.

Thanks for your help!

Gilles

After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi Gilles,

I think I need some kind of access in Gemini to the Store module. I can see the Store pages, but I can't edit any issue lik I can in the Gallery module.

And I don't have a clue on what issues I should test or what fields I have to set on testresults.

Please help me out so I can assist the testteam.

Cheers,

Jos

Hi Jos,

I do not know if you realy need a special access to Gemini, because there is the QA team to control and validate issues when they have been corrected be me.

The goal of a beta tester is to test! ;-) Then, to report every bug on Gemini. It could be great to list some kind of procedures to apply on each beta version. Here a list of what I already test on each version:

  1. Install the module on a clean DNN instance version 4.4.1 (it's currently the minimun version to use).
  2. Update the module on DNN 4.4.1 with the last released Store module installed.
  3. Update the module on DNN 4.4.1 with the last beta version installed.
  4. Repeat the tree previous tests with the last DNN version available.

It could be usefull to add the following tests to the list:

  1. Create 2 categories and 2 sub categories
  2. Create 4 products (one by category)
  3. Validate a complete order with each available gateway provider.
    1. Currently, I test the code with the email provider and I test 1 order with PayPal sandbox before release. I can't test the Authorize.net provider because I do not have a test account. One year before I wrote to Authorize to obtain a test account but never receive a response.
  4. Validate an import / export of the full catalog between 2 DNN instance installed with the same Store version.
  5. Test each new properties and features.

If you have some other ideas, please tell me.

Gilles

Hi Gilles,

See my comments inline.

I have a couple of local DNN portals on my laptop, one of the, is dedicated to the Gallery and Store modules.

Portal: DNN ver. 04.09.02 (both my production DNN as my local test portals)

Store version: 02.01.12

This store is completely filled with the content of my store on one of my productionportals: http://www.avbsalmelo.nl/

This is a store for one of my hobby's "Tropical fish"; a hobbyclub that sells fish, plants and technics for aquarium enthousiasts.

As far as I'm concerned, this is my "Live Test" environment for the store module. Everything is there and works as expected.

  2. Create 4 products (one by category)  - Jos: I have approx 7 fish and 3 plants as products (on my testportal; many more on my production portal.
  3. Validate a complete order with each available gateway provider.  - Jos: I did order several carts with all combinations of fish and plants. Checkout with the e-mail provider works like a charm. I can't test the PayPal or other means because I don't have these accounts.
- Jos: I did this already by exporting the Store from my productionsite to my localhost testsite. No problems whatsoever! The copied store is exactly the same as the original one.
  5. Test each new properties and features. - Jos: Do I get a list of new features after the Store 02.01.12 version?

If you have some other ideas, please tell me.
