Hi

I'm new to web design, new to DNN. Do you experienced folks recommend that I just "Dive right in" and start using dotnetnuke to design a site, or should I take a step back and learn Visual Basic, or basic HTML, etc. first?

I'm not in a huge hurry but I would love to be proficient at putting up a website within the next year.

Thanks for your feedback.

Rich

Rich,

you don't need to know about VB.Net or ASP.Net to run a DotNetNuke web site, nor HTML to enter content. Look for a hoster, who provides the installation and start with the default modules and skin, get some additional skins and modules from the Marketplace or Snowcovered and get familiar with DotNetNuke. You will be able to create great sites. Only, if you want to create your own skins, you will need to learn HTML and CSS, if you want to develop your own modules, you will need to learn programming with ASP.Net.

Cheers from Germany,
