I have installed dnn on a test server, but when I go to admin/authentication Active Directory is not an option on the page. What am I doing wrong? Is there a chance that my install doesn't include this module or do I have to install the module first? (I'm very new to this product.) Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like you don't have the AD provider installed or enabled.  You can check that in the Host->Settings menu.

When I go to the host settings page I get dnn, liveid and openID as choices for authentication. When click on install new authentication system I can't find anything that mentions ad at all.

Ok. So I downloaded the active directory provider install module as a zip and attempted to install through the host area and go this message:

An error occured in teh script to this page.

Line 59
Char 14

Error fckeditorapi is undefined

(url of my site - noteworthy the path says portalid/0/default.aspx

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

And it just hangs whether I click yes or no.

This is discussed in numerous posts on the forum (it's a bug in the FCKEditor that was packaged with DNN 4.9) but in short the workaround is:

1. Make a back up of the FCKEditor dll that's in the bin directory of your computer.
2. Overwrite the original dll with an older version of the FCKEditor dll
3. Install the AD Provider (or whichever provider you're trying to install)
4. Replace the older FCKEditor dll with the newer version that you backed up in step 1.
