In two days, I'll be moving our current production instance of DNN to a new server (that will be housed in a different location with new IPs).

I just want to know if there's anything that I'm missing on the things I need to do.  My steps are (in no particular order):

  • Copy the DNN files from the older server to the new server
  • Make sure new IIS instance is configured for .NET 2x
  • Make sure folder permissions allow Network Service complete control over all files in the DNN folder
  • Move (Backup/Restore) SQL database to new server
  • Ensure that login ID can actually log into the database
  • Change web.config to point to new SQL data
  • Update any portal aliases that used the old IP address to now use the new IP address
  • Update the Repository table data to reflect the new physical path of Repository files
  • Update the SMTP server to use for sending mail.
