Hello all,

I'm new to DNN.  I installed DNN 4.02, then followed the forum module instruction and uploaded the forum module, added it.  Everything looks good... until I go back to my Visual Studio 05, and do a rebuild.  It builds all the directories until it gets to the forum directory and I have this shown in the "Output" window":

"E:\Documents and Settings\Kelvin Lau\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\WebSites\Myweb\DesktopModules\Forum\Integration\Integration_MediaGallery.aspx(3): Build (web): Error parsing attribute 'enableEventValidation': Could not load file or assembly 'DotNetNuke.Modules.Gallery, Version=3.0.11.3077, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

There comes with a bunch of errs in the error list, 1 of which is:  "Error parsing attribute 'enableEventValidation': Could not load file or assembly 'DotNetNuke.Modules.Gallery, Version=3.0.11.3077, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

Thanks for help!!

you can't install the forums and expect to build DNN in VS2005 at the same time. I found this out the hard way too.

It's a mistery to me why MSbuild gives this error when building in VS2005 and it doesn't when building under IIS (regular site usage)

anyhow it doen't work in VS2005. doen't matter if you have the source or the install version.

My recomendation is , AVOID using this module except when you need avatars on the forums

This module is not able to be developed in 4.x (2.0 framework) without converting it.

Does it mean I cannot use it if I am using VS2005?  Is there a workaround?  Has anyone got it working with VS2005 okay?  Thanks for helping!
