Dear friends,

I have used the following code and it throws an exception "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

I am finding it difficult to navigate further with that error.

DotNetNuke.Security.

PortalSecurity objSecurity=null;

string

s = objSecurity.InputFilter(myDataReader["Content"].ToString(), DotNetNuke.Security.PortalSecurity.FilterFlag.NoMarkUp);

kindly help me in resolving this error

regards,

deepak

Hi Deepak,

Since your objSecurity object is being (explicitly) set to null, any subsequent reference to a member will result in the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error that you are experiencing.

To fix the problem, instantiate the PortalSecurity object before using it, as:

PortalSecurity objSecurity = new PortalSecurity();

Hope this helps!

Brandon
