When I install my DNN for the first time. The page loads but and error message is displayed on the home page which says:

 

A critical error has occurred. vbc : Command line (0): error BC2017: could not find library 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root\93f3c431\476045cc\App_global.asax.ztrnr659.dll

 

I used the DNN 4.0.2 starter  kit. The latest version. I didn't have much luck with the earlier versions.

 

The menus for admin and host are also not displayed on the home page.

have you validated that the new asp.net is installed and working?
