I installed DNN 5.0 and used it like a regular user. I am not noticing anything significant different than 4.9.

5.0 is a major version number and usually major versions indicate major new functionality. However I am not seeing any.

I would like to know what are the new features in 5.0

... it's the time you have to wait for it ;)

But DNN 5.0.0 has a number of changes under the hood, preparing the basics for future functional improvements. And we are preparing more basics to come in DNN 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, ...

The significant new advances in DNN 5.0 are not aimed at end users and administrators, but rather the primary changes are aimed at developers and designers.  I will be posting a What's New this coming week since I didn't have time to finish it before OpenForce when we released RC2.

I do see a lot of difference. Very happy to see jquery plugins. Hopefully some one will write some docs on how to take advantage of jquery, the few new options for menu.

I also like the part that it is moving toward XHTML Compliance and the extended permissions. I was little confused on how to install modules but figured it out eventually. Great work DNN Core Developers. When do you  think DNN 5 will be production ready? I am holding off on a few projects just to use DNN 5.

Thank you again to core members.

ROFL!  If only Microsoft had a self-deprecating sense of humor about their releases.  Makes me love DNN just a little bit more.  :)

Thanks,

Jeff
