In my dnn portal I specified the users to receive a verification email upon registration. The email is sent fine but the link that redirects to the login page with the user name and verification code filled does not work. The link looks like

www.myurl.com/dnn/default.aspx?ctl=Login&username=myusername8&verificationcode=6-19

and it redirects to my portal's default page(which doesn't have a login control). I have a seperate login page and I specified that this is the login page, but the above url always redirects to the default page. I even tried to put a login control to the default page, but the username and verification code are not filled when redirected.

Any suggestion?

Also isn't the verification code a little predictable? A number always increased by one?

The verification code simply is portalid - userid. This is predictable, but it's only used to ensure, that the email address entered is belonging to an existing mailbox, the registered user has access to.

I am not sure, why the link is not adjusted properly, which DNN version are you using? Did you manually tweak the email message?

Can l also confirm that the verfication link for a child portal does not work. I have tried various combinations of the URL to see what would happen. The best l could do was to get the user ID and code to display in the parent portal login page? We are currently using V5.2.2. Anybody any suggestions? Verfiication via the parent portal is not possible with the set up we have.
