Although it's not a ready-made solution to your issue, you can create your own custom views of the DNN Blog module fairly easily using a free third-party module.  I have a post on doing this along with an example for creating a "Most-Commented Blog Posts" list for the DNN Blog module -- in fact, I use the very technique from the example to display various blog entry lists on the site ("Most-Viewed Blogs", "Most-Recent Blogs" and "Most-Commented Blogs").

 Here's the post:  http://eguanasolutions.com/DNNBlog/tabid/54/EntryID/13/Default.aspx

The posted example employs the free Advanced DataGrid module.  However, if you instead use the SQLView module (also free, also blogged about on that same site) you can leverage querystring parameters to link SQL modules together (as in an "all months with blogs" list leading to a "display all blogs in the selected month" list, using the querystring to pass the selected month).

Again - it's not a ready-made solution but if you don't mind playing with a little SQL you can create a lot of custom functionality without having to get your feet wet with writing your own modules.  Best of all, this can be an extremely handy technique for all sorts of other modules.  For example: I've used the same technique to create customized "Seats Remaining" lists for events in the DNN Events module and also to dynamically display a temporary 24-hour message to new website users (display the message the first 24 hours after a user has registered).

Hi Mamlin,

very good job, thank you for sharing. We look forward when this features will be directly provided by the module itself (they are in the roadmap).

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

I'm trying to get several separate blogs so that different personnel in the company can use different blogs. How soon is DotNetNuke away from getting this feature to work? Thanks!

Hi Kenneth,

we are in the process of preparing a new development platform for the next version, so it will take some more time. We apologize for this, but we are confident that it will allow us to deliver a better product to our users.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Dario,

Thank you for posting -- and know that there are others out there waiting for the same features (mod idea +1). While other paid modules could work, for instance, I fear going with a paid solution that will lack good integration with core DNN modules. So, we're going to stick it out with the current feature set, albeit, are waiting VERY eagerly for an improved core blog feature.

Thanks for all your help,

--Dave
