Hello,

I just installed dotnetnuke v5 on my machine after reading the fact that it is safe to install it on the production environment, but unfortunately I get this error

Error: is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.Settings.UpdateSettings() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

can someone please help me ? I have to setup windows authentication.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Have you configured your SMTP settings on your DNN installation ?

If you havent, you could use the technique i mentioned previously to UNINSTALL the Active Directory settings.

For some reason, that module and the Card Space authentication module seems to be conflicting with the DNN framework.

Try and uninstall that for now, unless that bugs resolved and a new edition of the modules are available.

You'll have to login as a Super User and take the conflicting modules using the technique mentioned earlier.

I am crazy with bug. I can't use the method that registers new user. I will go back to version 4.9.0 and upgrade it to 4.9.1. >"<

I configured SMTP settings already. Is there any way to delete Active Directory module in host? I don't see it in my source when I accessed to host.

With respect you need to test first before upgrading to a production environment, or have a good rollback stategy. Only you can decide whether it's good for your production environment.

Many thanks.
