I dont know what happened but all of a suddent my site went down..I mean its not responing anymore.

I swear, I didnt do any changes to the portal.

When I try open the website in IE, it says connecting and stays there for ever..I am not getting the home page..

I checked the Event Viewer(Windows), dnn_sitelog, dnn_eventlog..but didnt find anything logged?

Please can anyone help to debug?

Not much to go on.  Did you check IIS logs to see if a request ieven gets to the web server?  Is this site hosted or do you manage the server?  Anything in the server event logs?  Have you restarted the site?  Server?  Tested with Telnet?  Ping?  Does a Hello World! HTML page work?

I am sorry, may be I should have mentioned..the one I am having problem is on my development machine...(not on production)

Finally it worked, dont know which one caused it to work

1) Uninstalled IIS

2) Reinstalled

3) recreated the website under IIS

Please note, I have not done any changes to the appl..so I dont know why site went down and why it came up..sigh.

well..I guess..I was too quick to jump..

Its back to its notorious actions.

It worked for some time..I made a change to one of my module and dropped the dlls to website bin folder.

And then F5 in IE..thats all..its stuck for ever..home page never comes..I can tell, that my module changes has nothing to do with it (als my module is not on home page)..

I am back to where I started..I dont know why this is happening.

Any suggestions to debug?

ok..I think I am narrowing down on the cause..

I have a Scheduler which used to run in the Request mode...2 days ago I changed it to run in Timer mode..

The scheduler runs perfect..but when I drop any updated dll in the "bin" directory the problem comes..The site seems to be startingup but never completes..as if its waiting for something to finish..dont know if it has anything related to stopping the scheduler (I have commented out the DoWorks() method..it means its completely emtpy)

So, then I would go the database and set enabled=0 for this scheduler and do an iisreset..the sites comes up..

Now, has there been any reported instances like this when using a scheduler?
