The install almost completed. But, near the end this message pops up.

Failure Did not find any .dnn file ???
Failure ExceptionSystem.Exception: File load failed, aborting at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.ReadZipStream() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.Install()

is there a prerequisite step I need to take before installing the module ?

I am confused when you say attempted to install webcontrols.  Are you talking about installing the webcontrols using the dotnetnuke module installer?  If so, what version of dnn are you referring to.  If 4, then there is no possibility of accomplishing an install with its installer.  If 5, then you would need a special package/manifest to make that work, one which I have not created yet.

In general the updating of webcontrols is done by simply overlaying the zip into your dotnetnuke root folder.

Thanks for your information. I have version 4.9 . I simply tried to install it using the module installer in DNN 4.9.
