We are working on a website that has DNN version 04.09.00 with the Repository module version 03.01.15.

We have previously uploaded content into this module using the Host user with no problem.  We can also edit the content with the Host user with no problem.  We have created another user "Poster Admin", assigned a role to that user, and then added all of the appropriate role permissions within the repository module setting "Security Roles".

When we then log in as the "Poster Admin", and try to edit information (like changing something in the description), after we hit the Upload submit button, we receive an error at the top of the page that says " A critical error has occurred.  Public member 'FileName' on type 'String' not found."

I tried changing some data in the corresponding record in the database table dbo.grmRepositoryObjects under the columns "CreatedbyUser" and "UpdatedbyUser" to be the exact userid number that we are wanting to use for editing and not the host userid of 1.  But, alas that doesn't work either.

Any suggestions?

are you using one of the skins (templates) shipped with the module? or are you using a custom template?

Great suggestion.  We are using the skin called "nifty".  However, we did make some modifications to that skin.  When we load the "default" skin back onto the module, the user "Poster Admin" no longer has a problem editing and uploading.

Any suggestions on what we should look for in our modified skin that would be causing the problem?

really hard to tell without knowing what modifications you made to the module. Since the error refers to the FileName field, I would look at any changes around the [FILE] token or [URLCONTROLFILE] token if you are using that. Check both the html and xml files.

We're having this issue as well.

We HAVE modded the XML file(s) to include the [URLCONTROLFILE] token, instead of the default [FILE] token in the form.xml.

My question is to how this could allow HOST to upload but not an ADMIN. Any ideas?
