With Google Analytics you can use a filter to eliminate your own IP from the Google report. Your method (admin skin) only eliminates hits to your admin pages, which are likely to be far fewer than your own hits to your normal pages as you work on your site.

If you don't have a fixed IP you'll have to use a domain filter or a regular expression. You may not want to do this if your site is weighted to local interest, because your neighbors may be using the same ISP.
