I am really new to using DNN so please help me out. I am running DNN 4 and I have been doing ok until recently when trying to update pages like adding a new user or changing the site logo I get an error on the page in IE and in Mozilla nothing happens at all. It was working great then one of the guys helping develop the site said he could no longer update things. I thought it was just him until 2 days later when I was unable to update things.

This is a major issue and I need to resolve it quickly the people I am working for are kind of sceptics about DNN and I had to convence them to use it and if I dont get this fixed i am going to have to re write the whole site in PHP or something else that they think will be better.

Can you check that no permissions have accidently been changed to stop this from being updated.  Can you also check your log files. Are they showing any errors?  What server are you running? Win2k3?

I am sure there must be an answer to this.

Oh and check that you have the aspnet client folder sitting in the root directory. I have had some issues with it not being there on my win2k server.

Did the developer add any modules to the site, or change the web.config file, or move the folder from a dev environment to a live one, and not change the folder permissions.

I'm just thinking off the cuff here, since I'm not back in my office yet, but I know there are some unusual things that can occur when things are chnaged.

Can you provide a couple of answers here so we can help you solve this - and really, DNN is a remarkable application to work with and I'm sure there is an answer.

I will have to do some checking on some of this but maybe I can give some info to get you started.I do not host the site it is hosted by dotnetpark.com I am going to try and find out what they run on there servers. so I am not sure where the aspnet client folder is. I am really new to this so I am not sure how to check the log files.

I do not think that anyone has loaded a module because I do all of that. I will have to check on the config file it may have been altered.

BTW I really love DNN

ohh one other questiong maybe related. I have been having issues ith people registering with y site it worked fine for a while people would get there emails find and now they do not get anything and I was trying to find out why but had no luck so I resorded to manualy entering them but now that will not work because I can not update after i get there infomation inputed.
