I'm having a problem with a few newsfeeds. Is there a way to tell WHAT is wrong?

Examples:

http://energy.einnews.com/rss/archive/energy_alternative
http://energy.einnews.com/rss/news/ferc

Thanks,
Brad

Here is another example:

Feed 'http://www.energystar.gov/ia/products/pr_podcasts_rss.xml' could not be loaded. Error: The required attribute 'length' is missing.

Brad,

There are a lot of possible reasons for the errors you are getting.  The new module is not very forgiving, and expects news feed sources to be RSSv2.0 compatible.  The first step in troubleshooting is to validate the feed using the following link:

W3C Feed Validation Service

Checking the feed you provided shows some issues in the source.  If it does not validate, it most probably won't download and display in the news module.  Although, this is not always the case, but in this one, there are some issues that point to the source needing some attention.

Next, step, is to try using the XML/XSL module to display the news feed.  In this particular case, you will need a custom XSL to display the feed if you want to include the enclosure elements and any of the custom name space elements.  The default.xsl used with the News Feeds (RSS) module is only going to give you bare bones transformation of the more common elements.
